On September 19, the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine (HUCM) officially started receiving patients at its brand-new East Campus. This marks the rise of a modern Traditional Chinese Medicine center in Central China — combining healthcare, education, and research under one roof.
BRD New Materials is proud to be part of this iconic project. For the East Campus exterior wall construction, BRD supplied custom-made 80 mm Rockwool composite panels in red, yellow, green, and grey. These panels were designed to meet HUCM’s strict safety and energy efficiency requirements.
Hospitals are high-density places, so fire protection is always the top priority. BRD’s A1-grade non-combustible Rockwool core panels, made from natural basalt and processed at 1450°C, passed national fire safety testing with zero melting drops and no toxic gas release — building a strong “life safety barrier.”
The 80mm Rockwool combined with calcium silicate facing and cement-based layer delivers excellent thermal resistance, perfect for Henan’s hot summers and cold winters. This three-layer system improves the wall’s thermal performance, saves energy, and reduces operating costs for the hospital.
With its advanced technology, fireproof performance, and thermal insulation efficiency, BRD’s Rockwool composite panels have become a key factor in improving quality and speeding up construction for this major healthcare project.
